#OneOakHarbor - Building a Vision for the Future
This school year, Oak Harbor Public Schools launched several new committees to engage the community on a vision for the future of our schools. Last week the Strategic Planning work continued with a Profile of a Graduate session at Oak Harbor High School. The session, facilitated by Dr. Tammy Campbell, brought together district leaders, teachers, students, community members and parents/guardians to develop they key skill areas our graduates will need to be successful after high school.

School leaders and board members met with student groups at Oak Harbor High School, North Whidbey Middle School, and Oak Harbor Intermediate School over the past two weeks to get additional insights and feedback into our strategic planning process. To stay up to date on Strategic Planning, go to the Oak Harbor Public Schools website.

Additionally, the Capital Facilities Advisory Committee is deep in discussion for the future planning of the facilities work needed in our schools. Last week, the committee began discussing project ideas that will be recommended to the school board in the summer.

We are also excited to see our staff and students' performances and cheer on our students participating in the parade.

A group of Oak Harbor High School students traveled to Seattle this week to visit the Museum of History and Industry, Pike Place Market, and the Burke Museum of Natural History/UW campus. For some students, this was their first time experiencing a museum or a trip to Seattle. Educator Ryan Wethall was very grateful for the opportunity to lead these students in an experiential learning experience.
