Since graduating from Oak Harbor High School in 2015, Kristofer Medina has been able to travel across the country and around the world with a career in the United States Navy. After graduation, he completed Navy Bootcamp, then U.S. Navy Cryptologic Technician School in 2016. He served as a Cryptologic Technician onboard USS Momsen (DDG 92) out of Everett for two years before picking up a commission through the Naval Academy in 2023. Today he is an Engineering Officer onboard USS Thomas Hudner (DDG 116) in Mayport, FL.

While in school in Oak Harbor Kristofer was involved with Key Club, Link Crew, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Band.

"Mr. Manuel found a way to teach first-time music students and led our middle school class to be great musicians and create some great memories along the way," he said. "Mr. Lantz at OHHS was dedicated and saw the growth of many students who are still close friends today."

One of his favorite memories of Oak Harbor High School was getting elected Prom King without suspecting it.

Looking back he would tell his younger self, "Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. That’s the only way to learn! Continue to learn from others and be humble enough to listen. Also, enjoy the time that you have with family because it can be hard to get back."
