The high school students led small teams of 3rd through 6th graders through the process of building a sample robot from a Lego kit. Campers then designed, built, and programmed robots to play in a pirate-themed game. The club will be hosting another full camp May 17 - 19. Thank you for sharing STEM excitement with our greater community, Wildcats!

OHHS Teacher Zac Sawhill Selected for Prestigious Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship
Oak Harbor High School teacher Zac Sawhill is among only 35 educators nationwide to be selected for Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic Society's 2024 Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship (GTF)! Mr. Sawhill was selected for his commitment to preserving the environment and shaping the next generation of planetary stewards.

Sawhill will be traveling to Antarctica to enhance his knowledge of the geographic region and ecosystems on the continent at the edge of the world. He hopes to bring back hands-on, field-based experience to share with his students and school community.
“I am most looking forward to bringing back learning to my students through my daily journals and video diary of my expeditions,” said Sawhiil.

Also selected for the expedition, and the only other teacher representing Washington State, is Sky Valley Education Center teacher Sabrina Shaw of the Monroe School District.
