*NEW* Full-Length Virtual Walk-Through of our New Schools
During the January 29 school board meeting, NAC Architects presented updates about the construction project for the new Crescent Harbor Elementary School and Hand-in-Hand/HomeConnection. The presentation included budget and schedule updates as well as new virtual walk-throughs of each site.

Class of 2016 Anna Woods (AnnaBelle Whitefoot) is a High School English and History Teacher at Chief Kitsap Academy, the Suquamish Tribe’s tribal compact school where she serves 6-12th grade Native youth from a variety of tribes. Her mother, Sarah Hangan, is a former teacher and coach with Oak Harbor Public Schools and her brother is also an alumnus of Oak Harbor Public Schools.
"I was gifted my Indian Name in May of 2022," says Anna. "My name is Wapíitala and it means Caretaker of the Youth. It is a big name to live up to, but I have made it my mission to serve Native Youth in the classroom and athletics."
|At Olympic View Elementary, Ms. Duhrkopf's class learned about r blends (words that include a two-letter consonant blend where the second letter is 'r'). They made trail mix foods with r blends; granola, green and brown M&M's, pretzels, and craisins.

At Oak Harbor Elementary, Ms. Hyneck & Mrs. Orbe’s classes collaborated as reading buddies.
The Oak Harbor Intermediate School Pitch Perfect Panthers performed the National Anthem at the Oak Harbor High School boys basketball game this week.
Crist Signs with George Fox University
Oak Harbor High School Senior Cheerleader Cianna Crist has signed to continue her cheerleading career at George Fox University in Newburg, Oregon. Congratulations on this amazing honor and opportunity!
Oak Harbor High School will host the San Juan Music Educators Association (SJMEA) Solo & Ensemble Contest this weekend. The SJMEA Solo & Ensemble provides the opportunity for students to perform for judges who are experts on their instruments, receive useful feedback, and prepare for future competitions.
