| You just never know what type of characters will show up for High Five Friday at Oak Harbor Elementary! |
|

| Mrs. Harrison's first graders at Hillcrest Elementary learned about the pancreas, insulin, and blood sugar levels as part of National Diabetes Awareness Week. Each student received a bag that included stickers and blue rubber bracelets they are now wearing to show support for friends and family members who live with diabetes. This was a perfect tie-in for their reading unit on the human body, a great way to show empathy, and a chance to learn what to do if a friend with diabetes is experiencing low blood sugar levels. |
