CKLA and Literacy Resources Hub (K-4)

A young man reads a book to two children in a library setting.

Welcome to the Literacy Resources hub for grades K–4! This page supports the implementation of Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) and is grounded in the principles of the Science of Readinga research-based understanding of how students best learn to read and write.

CKLA provides a comprehensive approach to early literacy, combining systematic phonics instruction with rich knowledge-building in history, science, and literature. Through a structured progression of foundational skills and content-based reading, our students build the language proficiency and background knowledge they need for long-term reading success.

Here you’ll find by grade level:

  • Pacing guides and unit overviews

  • Printable and digital resources

  • Decodable texts and fluency tools

  • Vocabulary and comprehension supports

  • Professional learning materials aligned with best practices in reading instruction

These resources are designed to help you bring CKLA to life in your classroom while meeting the diverse needs of our young readers. If you have questions or need additional support, the Teaching & Learning team is here to help.
