Great Attendance = Student Success!

Did you know that showing up to school every day is one of the most important factors in student success? Regular attendance helps students build strong learning habits, stay connected with their teachers and peers, and keep up with classwork.

Even missing just two days a month adds up to nearly 20 days of lost learning over the school year. Together, we can support our students by making attendance a priority because every day in school matters!

We want to help ensure that every student has strong attendance every year. Please visit the Oak Harbor Public Schools board policy 3122 and procedure 3122P regarding excused and unexcused absences.

A tool to help parents track attendance and grades is the Family Access program in Skyward. Contact the front office of the school your child attends for instructions on signing in and using the system.

Vision of the Student Experience

Last year we launched our new strategic plan. As part of the plan, the Vision of the Student Experience was created to describe the conditions necessary for students to be successful in Oak Harbor Public Schools.

Successful students in Oak Harbor can say:
  • I Am Valued And Understood.
  • I Take Risks In My Learning And I Am Succeeding Academically.
  • Oak Harbor Believes In Me And My Future.

As we continue to kick off this new school year, we've spotlighted several students who are living this experience in our schools because of the commitment of our families, staff, fellow students, and our grater #OneOakHarbor community.

OHHS Hosts Club Fair

On Monday, September 15, students attended the Club Fair where they learned about the clubs and sports offered at school and had the chance to sign up for the ones they were interested in. Several clubs passed out candy and flyers to entice students to join, as well as the Art Guild who spent time offering face painting to students. Emelia Gorski ‘26 who is involved in S.P.A.R.K., said “I love that we get to help out kids and it feels like a full circle moment because I am a senior helping out the younger kids.”
